Services

I offer Assessments and Therapies.

I accept direct referrals from clients, professionals and educational institutions. Where appropriate, and always with the client’s permission, I liaise with other relevant professionals to familiarise myself with the issues affecting the client.

Assessments generally last between 2½ to 4 hours.  For ongoing clinical work, sessions are 50 minutes. You will always receive a detailed report following an assessment and this will only be circulated to other professionals with your permission.

As I offer online therapy as well as in-person sessions, I am able to work with both local and international clients. I have worked with clients as far away as Japan and the West Coast of the USA.

Assessments Offered

Dyslexia Assessments (Specific Learning Difficulties)

A dyslexia assessment provides a detailed understanding of an individual’s strengths and challenges in reading, writing, and learning. The assessment involves:

  • Background information – looking at developmental history, education, and any concerns raised by parents, teachers, or the individual.
  • Cognitive and learning tests – exploring areas such as memory, processing speed, and problem-solving.
  • Literacy assessments – focusing on phonological awareness, reading accuracy and fluency, spelling, writing, and comprehension.
  • Questionnaires and observations – gathering additional insights into how difficulties appear in daily life.
  • Feedback and report – a feedback session is offered, along with a detailed written report within 3 weeks. This includes a clear diagnosis (if appropriate), a profile of strengths and difficulties, and tailored recommendations for support at school, work, and home.

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) Assessments

Seeking an ADHD assessment can feel like a big step, whether for yourself, your child, or a family member.

An ADHD assessment does more than give a diagnosis. It helps you understand strengths, challenges, and the best ways to get support. For children, this can mean school strategies and confidence-building. For adults, it may guide workplace adjustments, self-help tools, and medical support if needed.

A clinical psychology assessment for ADHD is a structured process designed to understand patterns of attention, focus, activity level, and self-regulation. It comprises:

  • Clinical Interviews – discussing developmental history, current concerns, and how difficulties affect daily life at school, work, or home.
  • Questionnaires and Rating Scales – completed by parents, teachers, or individuals themselves to capture behaviour across settings.
  • Standardised Psychometric Testing – using validated tools to assess areas such as concentration, working memory, processing speed, and executive functioning.
  • Consideration of Other Factors – exploring whether challenges may be linked to learning differences, emotional wellbeing, or environmental stressors.

A detailed report will follow within 3 weeks.

Transition to Higher Education Assessments (UK and Internationally)

Moving on to college or university is an exciting step, but it can also bring new challenges for students with learning, emotional, or developmental needs. As an educational and clinical psychologist, I provide assessments and tailored recommendations to support a smooth transition. I also work closely with UK and international schools, colleges, and universities to ensure students receive the right adjustments, guidance, and strategies to thrive in higher education.

Therapies

As a psychologist I work with clients and / or families on a one-on-one basis to help them adjust or re-evaluate their lives. I am a trained family therapist and use a solution-focused (brief therapy) model as well as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).

*Brief therapy is a talk therapy that focuses on specific problems, the clients existing strengths and future solutions rather than dwelling on past issues or lengthy problem analysis.

*Cognitive behaviour therapy is a form of talk therapy that helps people identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours to improve their mood and cope with challenges. It works on the core principle that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are interconnected, and by changing one, we can influence the others. CBT is goal-oriented and focuses on present-day issues, teaching practical, self-help strategies to manage various mental and physical health conditions, including depression, anxiety, insomnia, and chronic pain.
